La perla è comunemente conosciuta come una piccola sfera di color latteo con riflessi cangianti, pregiata e usata come ornamento muliebre.
Dunque un oggetto prezioso.
Per la sua bellezza una collana di perle merita di essere mostrata e conservata. In senso lato si suol definire "perla" qualsiasi cosa meritevole di attenzione.
Tali sono le partite che intendiamo mostrarvi. E intendiamo presentarvi anche coloro che "tali perle hanno creato": i giocatori.
Noi, se volete, siamo "i perlai", coloro cioè che lavorano e presentano le perle, oppure, se ancora volete, "i pescatori di perle", coloro cioè che si immergono in mare e tra migliaia di conchiglie cercano solo quelle che al loro interno contengono qualcosa di veramente bello da portare alla luce del sole: appunto le perle.
Intendiamo cercare molte "perle" e quindi la lista dei giocatori è destinata ad aumentare.
